Description:Working as part of the Sales Department, you will be expected to take responsibility for its technical requirements and be part of the commercial decision making for one or several products on behalf of the Company. You will therefore need strong technical and/or end-user experience and knowledge of the product, be aware of its commercial capability and where possible look for potential new markets. You will also be expected to provide support and documentation where necessary and proactively keep up-to-date with all new developments.
Duties:The ideal candidate will be able to:

- Provide technical assistance to the Sales team for the product(s) where possible.

- Provide high quality product demonstrations and assistance at trade shows, conferences, road shows and presentations to prospective customers.

- Create and update demonstration aids and solutions to be used by other members of the Sales team.

- Assess customer needs and provide advice to Territory Sales Representatives on best solutions for the customer.

- Involvement in the marketing and commercial decisions of the Company’s product(s).

- Responsibility for the initial installation, set-up and upgrades of demonstration systems for the Company’s product(s).

- Provide assistance in the form of training/consultancy to other employees, ad hoc and on a regular basis, including participation in the delivery of an ongoing Sales team training programme.

- Proactively keep up-to-date with new releases and developments by whatever means necessary, establishing lines of communication with Technical Product Managers, worldwide product “experts” and peers, fellow Sales team members and the APAC customer base.

- Work closely with the Proposal Writers and Territory Sales Representatives to provide information needed for tender responses and other proposals.

- To represent the Sales team and its territory to the Company in product-related discussions and communication processes, and to communicate market requirements to the Technical Product Director, including areas of non-compliance in responses to tenders.
Qualifications:- Understanding of current library technology, industry trends and requirements.

- Experience of using UNIX or Linux and Windows NT server operating systems, and Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server databases.

- Experience of using Library Management Systems, ideally including at least one from the following: SirsiDynix Symphony, Unicorn, Horizon 7.x, Dynix Classic, Aleph, Evergreen, Koha, Millennium, OLIB, OpenGalaxy, Spydus, Talis, Virtua, Voyager, Vubis Smart.

- Knowledge of other popular library technologies, including vertical searching, federated searching, open URL resolvers and Electronic Resource Management Systems.

- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and Windows XP.

- Ability to learn quickly and develop knowledge of the required product(s).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong presentation skills are essential with workshop facilitation experience.

- Self motivated with investigating, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation and analysis skills.

- Ability to work as part of a team.
